Waterfall Wednesdays Discussion 2

Waterfall Wednesdays Discussion #2

Discussion #2 Chapters 7-11-Questions by Misse at The Unread Reader

Gabi's search for her sister is made increasingly difficult by the fight for territory between Castello Forelli and Castello Paratore. At this point, do you think the rivalry is warranted? Why or why not?

The Dark Ages was full of land owner/family rivalries. The idea back then was to conquer as much land as you can. Build your empire up! So in a way, I can see the rivalry warranted by the times, but also do not believe these two families would fight to the death over trivial matters.

Gabi aids Fortino by having his sickroom cleaned out and using steam to loosen the phlegm inside his lungs so he could breathe better. Have you ever found yourself in a situation that required you to rely on home remedies to aid yourself or another? What are some of your favorite home remedies?

Hmmmm. Home remedies I have used are:

Karo syrup and hot milk for sore throats
Meat tenderizer moistened and rubbed on wasp or bee stings
Windex on zits (while it doesn't disappear the following day as on "My Big Fat Greek Wedding", it does dry it up)

Marcello and his men don't hide their surprise when they learn that Gabi is skilled with a sword. What did you think of this development? Has your initial impression of Gabi changed? Do you have any secret skills?

I believe Marcello and his men are beginning to question the women as well as the men from Normandy. I am wondering whether they believe the men ill-informed on proper women etiquette and should be putting the women in their place, or if they are wondering whether they, themselves, are behind the times.

Secret skills? I taught myself everything their is to know about my particular computer. I can normally figure out how to fix anything electronic if it can be fixed without taking it in.

"Our lips were so close, I could feel the heat of his breath on my skin." Gabi and Marcello's feelings for one another are beginning to stir. What do you think of Marcello as a romantic interest thus far? What do you think of his intended?

There is an obvious attraction between the two. It will be interesting to see how this progresses. I believe he is a gentleman, but one that would let his "woman" have her own opinions in time.

I cannot stand his intended. She is rude and arrogant. Anyone who constantly puts others down and "stalks" their intended is not very confident in their relationship.

Marcello and Luca take turns teaching Gabi the dances of Toscana. Would you have liked to attend a ball like the one Gabi was practicing for? Do you like to dance? Do you know any cool dance moves? Extra (not really) points if you YouTube yourself dancing and share the video. Come on, it will be fun!

I absolutely adore old style dancing. I have always wanted to learn to dance ball room style based on various different centuries.

I will NOT YouTub myself...Oh deary me! I was a great Drill Team dancer in my day. I am working on Zumba, so maybe I will learn some Latin Romance Flavor soon. The only true thing I can do well is the Running Man and that wonderful Jr High slow dance routine ;)

  1. I've been 20+ WW posts and you're the first to mention the Windex, as seen in "Big Fat Greek Wedding"! I loved that part, and think it's fun that the remedy might actually be real...And I'm dying to take a Zumba lesson! It looks fun!

Thanks for taking part in WW! See you next week!

  5. Windex for zits! Yikes!!! I didn't know about that one. I think it is so awesome that you used to be a Drill Team dancer. And Zumba looks like fun. I'd like to learn that myself. :)

Thanks so much for your answers this week, Staci.
