The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
5 stars! Wow. What can I possibly say to give this book justice? This is one of those books that make you think about the story even when you are away from the book. Rae Carson is an exceptional writer and I am so glad I stumbled upon her book.
In this novel, a young princess goes on a journey of self discovery. This is not your ordinary princess story. Elisa was chosen as bearer to the Godstone. As a bearer, Elisa has no idea why she was chosen or what it truly means. She constantly feels unworthy of being the bearer of something so precious. At a young age, she is married in a political agreement and soon finds herself thrown into a whirlwind of events no princess at her age should deal with alone. Hers is a story of love, loss, defeat, and victory. A story of faith.
